The bird's name is snipe.
Someone in England who was an excellent shot and could hit one with a shot from his rifle was called a sniper. It required not only good marksmanship but stealth and patience.

look in to your dictionary,it is a bird called a, (snipe) it is a long billed wading bird,as for as a sniper bird I think as close as you can get on that would a seagull,when it comes to your food they act as if they are snipers,...LOL,...Pearl g
