anyone know how to make windows messenger 8 and yahoo 8 work??

i just got yahoo beta and windows messenger 8 i added my friend who has yahoo but it says he is ofline when he is online... Why is that it says u can chat with yahoo...!!!!

Is he using the Yahoo Messenger 8.0? Did he add you to his Contact list? I works great when both parties are on the same page and set up their individual messengers properly. My daughter and I IM this way all the time. I use Windows Live and she used Yahoo.
