A CD or DVD drive with Lightscribe capability (or a computer that comes with such a drive) will usually also have software for creating a Lightscribe label or image for the CD or DVD. Note that special Lightscribe media is required.

To use it, follow these steps:
1. Burn the data to the CD or DVD.
2. Use the software mentioned above to create the image you want to put on the flip side of the CD or DVD.
3. Put the CD or DVD back in the drive, but upside down.
4. Tell the software to create the Lightscribe image. This may take up to 25 minutes.

Be sure that you keep a copy of the data you burned onto the disk, at least until you verify that the disk is readable. There are occasions where the image that is put on the other side may render the media unreadable, at least in some drives. This tends to be quite variable with media brand and with individual drives.

Burn first on the drive, then flip it upside down and burn an picture on the screen. Pretty neat function. You must have a lightscribe drive and you will also need a lightscribe cd or dvd. The top coating of the cd is specially made so that the laser of the burner can create an image on it. Surething LE is free software you can download to utilize the lightscribe feature if your burner didn't come with any software. Hope this helps.

Special HP drive and special media -- you record a CD/DVD, then flip the disk over and use the software to burn the label with the same laser.
