Johnny money A pioneer of united states of america, Rock, Blues, and Gospel. He has offered almost a hundred million albums. those days I gotta say Pearl Jam. I wasn't a extensive fan first of all yet i spotted how they started that Alt. Grungy sound.each and every band that claimed Grunge and decision contained in the ninety's have been inspired and sounded a smidgen like Pearl Jam

Most current bands suck. It's the sad truth. Everything has been done already and everything that's out there is a copy. Examples:

Slipknot - KISS rip off
Eighteen Visions - Considered "next Def Leppard"
Avenged Sevenfold - Guns N' Roses and Motley Crue wannabes
Emo bands - Just terrible
Punk bands - Cheap copy of the 70's

I think Green Day is because many of the new generation of bands revere Green Day as pioneers when they shouldn't get that credit. I think Pearl Jam also has a big impact because many bands emulate their sound stylings between Pearl Jam albums.

You have to take TIME into consideration - and 'mass influence' (ie: not just niche artists like Panic! @ the Disco) - so I'd agree it is probably U2. They continue to make chart topping music 25 years into it, and they have the 'ear' of a wide audience (particularly Bono w/ his Africa bent). They've evolved and stayed current for that time frame. Nirvana had a too short stint, and others had to narrow an appeal.

Green Day? Come on, guys! Are you serious? They're just a whiny, wannabe punk band.

My vote goes to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. They are the BEST! Hands down.

Good question.

Hmm, *maybe* U2.

See -probablem is- rock isn't what it was 25, 30 years ago. It isn't making much of an impact in general today. It's all about hip hop/rap. That genre is popular worldwide.

Personally, I think that the Red Hot Chili Peppers are kicking mega ***! They've been around for 20 years changing every music scene they enter. They've been through it all and their music still moves anyone who hears it.

You know them when they come on the radio cuz they don't sound like every other band around. Sure, they had their heroin faze, but check it out - none of them died, killed themselves, or left the band (completely).

My vote - the Chili Peppers

LONG LIVE ROCK AND ROLL!!
