G'day Ebaynut49,

Thanks for your question.

It depends on the age of the kids and the rules of the church.

Perhaps pin the tail on the donkey (or devil) might be appropriate. Blowing up balloons might be another fun activity. Having the kids find partners with the birthday closest to their own and then having to find two other things about the other kid.

Charades might be good if they are older kids.

The activities should be simple and not embarrassing for people to participate in.

I have attached some suggested icebreakers for meetings which might be suitable.

Best wishes to your friends and yourself.

Regards

Ever heard of Awana's? Games we play with the kids are
kick-ball, bean bag relay's, soada race's(race down to a table with a straw in your mouth with hands behind your back and sip up your darank(dixie cup) and race back. You can divide up in teams of 5-?. Buy you litters and small paper cups and pour out a bunch of them at the table and have a person at the table to watch a make sure there empty and say go when there done sipping it up. Enjoy and don't get sick. This game is the kids best.

Lazer tag!

My church youth group has a full set of gear, and I just helped another local church run a Lazer tag night for their youth group.

Check out Bible Battles, a system to reenact the biblical battles using Lazer Tag:

It is a lot of fun, helps teach kids respect for one another and that an opponent is not the same thing as an enemy, etc.

what about putting names of people in the bible on pieces of paper, pinning them to participants' backs, and then having them ask other people questions to guess who they themselves are? The other people could answer with only yes or no answers. That will get them all talking together, and could create some pretty good laughter as well as great questions to get things rolling. When they get their name right, the piece of paper comes off their back. You can do this with objects or places as well.
