hey, go for the 60 gig ipod.
its got 60 gigabytes of storage, plays videos, movies, songs, games. i only have about 12 gigs of music and pictures on mine. i think my daughter and wife probably have more on theirs.
price for ours was $399 a piece, plus $20 for a case plus $45 for an extended warranty.
i have since found out that the extended warranty is a piece of crap---at least from Best Buy.
i would STRONGLY suggest you go somewhere other than Best Buy to purchase your ipod, because their service after the sale is nonexistant.
i would STRONGLY suggest you buy your ipod from an apple store. after Best Buy screwed me over on my 'warranty work' my local apple store made the problem right!
best of luck!

My ipod mini can hold about a thousand songs, it sounds crazy but I've actually gotten to the point where I have to make a selection of songs/artists for my ipod because I have too much for it to hold. I would go with the largest storage amount (gigabytes) you want to pay for. I haven't tried the video ipod but it sounds cool :-)

Video because it holds music, videos AND music. Also, it's screen is wider than the others and it's a bit bigger. (better for dropping if you're clumsy like me!) The 30GB model sells for $299 while the 60GB version goes for $399. I would personally get the 30GB because it stores enough.. I think it's about 7,500?
