OK, I heard that there are sets of 2 wires under the dash, like, 2 green, 2 blue, 2 yellow, and all you have to do is find the 2 wires that have no match up and cross them. is this true?

The ignition is just a "switch". As a matter of fact it is 2 switches in one.

To start a car the positive wire from the battery must connect to the positive wire on the selenoid control. The ignition "switch" prevents this without the key.

The other "switch" in the ignition keeps the coil and recharging system operating after the car has been started.

In an Acura it is Black with a yellow stripe. Rip out the dash under the steering wheel, look for 2 seperate wires that fit this description and touch them together. The starter should operate, but it won't stay on. Your other problem is the steering wheel lock. I'm not a damned thief so I do not know how to defeat this.

To steal an old GM, the "old school" way you take a dent puller, screw it into the ignition then yank the ignition out. After that you put a screwdriver in the little notch you see. Congratulations, you have your brand new stolen Cadillac.

If you don't know what you are doing, you could burn yourself pretty good. 12 volts going through wire with about 500 amps available gets hot pretty fast! Every mfr. uses different wire coding to some extent!

I went out of the garage business about 20 years ago, but in all the cars I "hotwired" for customers I never cut and connected wires (like in the movies)! I usually just used jumper wires under the hood and bypassed whatever I needed to - to get power to the ignition, electronics, and power to crank the starter. That way I didn't need to do all kinds of wiring repairs when the car was fixed, (or they found their keys). Now locking steering columns is another matter. Since I wasn't in a hurry, - (if the ignition just didn't work with the column unlocked with the key), - I did it right, and saved the customer another 100 bucks by not "pulling" the ignition losckset out with a slide-hammer! This generally messes up the housing that the lockset goes into, and then it has to be replaced to keep the thing from falling on the floor all the time with the key in it! In the end you will have to remove the steering wheel, the trunsignal switch and some other stuff anyway, but the steering column doesn't have to be ripped down partially to get the Housing and all the asscociated stuff off for replacement. You can change lock out in less than an hour, - if you know what you are doing, and have the right tools!

On the other hand if you are thinking about a "chop shop" - you wiill get caught sooner, - or later, and they frown on the practice, - but you get free meals and rent for quite some time!

The Steering Column Has To Be Unlocked,U Can By-Pass The Ignition System,Every Car Has Its Own Wiring Schematic,It Definitely Behooves U To Know Which Wires Are The Ignition Wires

That's BS. You break the lock with a magnet (those things that pull dents out of cars work the best), you pull out the guard on the ignition, and put a screwdriver where the ignition used to be. Don't pull out the whole ignition, just the top, and leave the metal underneath. Put the screwdriver where there's a big line, just where a screwdriver might fit. Turn the screwdriver like you would turn a key, and viola! The car starts! Trust me if you do it right on a Plymouth Voyager minivan or Town and Country minivan it works like a charm.

It's really hard to hotwire a car thats newer cars. almost impossible unless your a complete expert in that field. As my auto teacher said the stuff you see in the movies where you just pull two wires and stick them together it a bunch of crap

First you've got to bypass the ignition solenoid. It's usually by the battery. Then, find the pink wire, in the harness attached to the streering column, strip it, and hold it to a grounded part of the frame. That'll crank the engine over.
