My sister has started dating my bf's best friend. This has caused a lot of stress between the four of us (we're all in our 20s) . Her new bf has cheated on a girl in the past and is not someone that I would like my sister dating. He has told my bf that he needs to start lying to me about what they do when they go out and my bf said that he won't lie and doesn't feel comfortable with him dating my sister.
(they have only been dating a week) I've talked to my sister and told her that the issue is we know too many things about each other (as sisters) that I don't want him knowing and he knows stuff about me (as a friend) that I don't want my family knowing.
She thought the best idea was to make a pact not to tell each other anything about the others, but that doesn't work in a friendship because you're supposed to be able to talk about your sig, other with your friends
My bf and him havent spoken in a week they used to talk every day and i want him to- should i intervene?

WELL, IT SEEMS AS THOUGH WHEN YOU INTERVENE IN A SITUATION THAT INVOLVES A FEMALE AND HER BOYFRIEND...IT ALWAYS TENDS TO BACK FIRE. THIS IS VERY SENSITIVE BECAUSE IT'S YOUR SISTER. HOWEVER, IF YOUR SISTER DOES NOT WANT TO HEED YOUR ADVICE, THEN I SUGGEST THAT YOU JUST LET HER FIND OUT THE HARD WAY AND HOPE THAT IT'S NOT TOO LATE IN THE GAME...MEANING AFTER SHE'S FALLEN MADLY IN LOVE WITH THIS CLOWN.
WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT LET THEIR FOOLISHNESS MESS UP THE RELATIONSHIP THAT YOU AND YOUR BOYFRIEND HAVE OBVIOUSLY WORKED SO HARD TO KEEP. Just back off. It's not up to you and is none of your business who your sister dates and who your boyfriends best friend dates. They are adults so leave that up to them. All you can do is nicely tell your sister how you feel, but don't demand anything, then back off an drop it. No matter what you do, if she is an adult, she will do what she wants. There's not a whole lot you can or should do about it. If you have secrets that you don't want getting back to your family then you should have thought about that before.

the more you badger your sister about dating this guy the more she will ignore your heartfelt warnings.
calmly tell her what you think will happen and then let her find out for herself.
but if he starts abusing her the call the authorities
