Arnold Schwarzenegger apologized Friday for saying during a closed-door meeting that Cubans and Puerto Ricans are naturally feisty and temperamental because of their combination of "black blood" and "Latino blood."

He claims the tape-recorded comments "made me cringe" when he read them in Friday's Los Angeles Times.

"Anyone out there that feels offended by those comments, I just want to say I'm sorry, I apologize," Schwarzenegger said. He added that if he heard his children make similar comments, "I would be upset."

What do you guys think? Is he truly apologetic for his awful, crude comments? Do you think he's being sincere or trying to save himself?

Well, truthfully i don't think he really cares about whether he hurt the people. But i do think he cares that it can hurt HIS JOB!!! This would be the most probably explanation for why he apologized, or claims to apologize for that matter, He's got terrific movies, but hey if he's in a position like the one he's in, he has to learn to use some judgement in what he says. You can't just go around making jokes about races like Indians (i'm one), jews, blacks, whites, pinks...and whatever other names they go by these days. I was a big Arnold fan, and im still a big movie fan, but i don't think he was the best choice for governor, and this is clearly reflected by his choice of words. So coming from a fan of his movies, i don't konw what he expects from those that now don't like him.

Technically, yes you CAN (can indicates ability to do somehting in English) forgive him. But i don't know if everyone should, especialy if they feel strongly about what he said.

He's most likely just trying to save himself, you're right about that; but unfortunately many politicians do this now adays.

Anyway i hope my opinion helps!!!

Whenever celebrities and politicians say stupid things like this their press agents or publicity people make them apologize. It's not sincere, they're just trying to save face and their public image. Otherwise they would never have said these things in the first place. Arnold's an idiot. I'm glad I don't live in California.

Unfortunately when some politicans reach their goal. To become the upptiy ups,in whatever governing station they are in they really do forget how they got there and mostly why they are there! I don't think his apology is real .the old saying is If you think it, you believe it ,thats why it blurted out, but to each his own i'm a newyorican and comfortable in my skin. And yes we do have a temper but only on occasions otherwise we are the most quiet people who mind our business, live and let live.

I don't think that it was that big of a deal. People make jokes like that about their own ethnicity, not to mention the gads of people that make comments along the same lines about their SO, friends, kids, etc. I think people that get up in arm over this really need to grow up and get thicker skin...

Of course he is trying to save himself. It's not politically correct to speak your mind these days, which is ironic, considering the fact that it's OKAY to make racial comments towards white people.

But answer me this.. You've probably said something in the heat of the moment that you regret later right? I assume you'd apologize in that situation, correct? So what makes you think he's not truly sorry for it?

i'll tell it like this...and forgive me for bringing it up, but God is the one who will be doing the forgiving. we need not worry about what he said. he's a product of his environment like most of us.
far be it from anyone to think they can judge him or anyone for their opinions and views. it's another thing the devil uses against us to make the hate in this world thrive. if he delivered an apology, it is much better than if he had not said anything in his defense. thanks for the question because people need to stop.

Well...Maybe..it all depends on how you feel towards people making racist coments at all. So I say Maybe it can be forgiven but it all Depends on the person your asking if Arnold's racist comment can be 4given at all.

I think he's just trying to save himself. I have nothing against him really, but I haven't been impressed by him in any way.
