I got an IUD (Paraguard) about 2 months ago, and this month my breasts have been really tender and I just felt different, so I took a home preg test (my period isn't even due for a few days!) and I got a faint positive. I know the IUD has to be removed, will it definitely cause a miscarriage or will I be able to carry the baby to term? Obviously this wasn't a planned pregnancy, but I don't want to lose it either. Any experience with this anyone???

I got pregnant twice with an IUD. Both times I had it removed and didn't miscarry.

They will take a look at it during the U/s wow isn't the % like less than 1 out of a 100 and for a woman 2 get pregnant 2x while on the IUD is amazing.

You may miscarry when the IUD is removed there is a high chance or they might leave it in it all depends on the location of the baby. There is also a HIGH possibility this may be an ectopic pregnancy so go ASAP

it may be a false positive. check with your doctor. certain birth control methods that affect hormones can cause false positives. it causes your body to produce hcg even though you're really not pregnant. also. the change in hormones will give you pregnancy symptoms. it's tricking your body into believing that you are pregnant so your body will act like it. put it this way i was on the birth control shot, i didn't have a period the whole time and my breasts were sore, went up a cup size and i was lactating for the whole year and half i was on it. it could just be the effects of the iud

properly i did no longer have the paraguard IUD I had the Mirena for the entire 5 years and that i've got been given it bumped off in April and have been given pregnant after the 1st cycle and to this point my being pregnant has been outstanding. in the previous I have been given mine bumped off I heard all varieties of horror memories approximately attempting to conceive upon getting it bumped off yet there hasn't been any issues for me (knock on timber.) i'm hoping this helped!!

Sometimes it is okay to leave the IUD in place. You'll have to discuss this with your doctor.
