Arnold Schwarzenegger apologized Friday for saying during a closed-door meeting that Cubans and Puerto Ricans are naturally feisty and temperamental because of their combination of "black blood" and "Latino blood."
He claims the tape-recorded comments "made me cringe" when he read them in Friday's Los Angeles Times.
"Anyone out there that feels offended by those comments, I just want to say I'm sorry, I apologize," Schwarzenegger said. He added that if he heard his children make similar comments, "I would be upset."
What do you guys think? Is he truly apologetic for hiw awful, crude comments? Do you think he's being sincere or trying to save himself?

i just think the man is recognising the fantastic differences between the races and cultures... these days ... its seems you are not 'allowed' to say anything about the race what so ever... in case they are offended .... well get this... i like fiesty latina women :-) ... is that ok to say that or am i branded a racist ?
It doesn't really matter if he is 'forgiven' .. by who? ... all that matters to Mr Swarzenegger is his voters and his people...
People have said a lot worse in recent days.

Fortunately, he can't run for President, since that office is reserved for USA born citizens.
But his leadership skills in an almost impossible place like California might be both needed and appropriate.

why are you calling on the racist Mayor Nagin for his comments?
Latin people are well known for their passion &firey temperments. There's been song & movies about it...
All my Latina friends fly their fireyness like a badge of honor.

I think that he is trying to safe himself for being called a racists and he does not want ethnic groups to hate him. I do appreciate the fact that he is apologizing but I strongly believe what he said he met every word.
He should not have made a comment like that to begin with, Some things is best if it is kept inside..

As usual Politicians have to save face when they open mouth and put foot in it. Everyone should be outraged but then we would have to look at ourselves too!

he is probably sincerely trying to save his political career, but since almost no one was offended, who cares. I guess that his opponents will blow this up out of all proportion for political gains, till eveyone is sick of hearing about it.

His comments were NOT racists. He did nothing wrong. He should not have apologized for telling the truth about how those people are.
