It's his age...he doesn't want to be contained....
It's perfectly normal....my suggestion is to do it with a quickness..
Make a game out of it...if you get him laughing, he won't realize what's happening.....
Just remember...this phase doesn't last forever..it just feels like it. :)

We have a CD that we downloaded from the Leapfrog site with a bunch of silly kid songs that we turn on when its time to get changed and then we give her something to play with and it seems to help. But ultimately they dont like to be down so Ive given up! Whatever helps even if for just a few seconds!

well, the only thing you can do is to be very firm and talk to him that he has to be still before he will hurt himself. Whenever he tries to turn around and or roll over, you need to put him back on his back and continue what are you doing. As soon he tries it again, put him back on his back. You really have to be very consistent with this, and do not give up or especially give in. As soon you give in, even just only an inch, you are lost again.Be consistent with this, this is the main thing. He will hopefully figure out very soon that you mean business and that you are not playing around, that what he is probably thinking, everything is a big game.

I have the same problem with my son. I think he is trying to see if I'm going to give in to him ( he does not wants to still). I have started holding on to his ankle (just tight enough that he can't slip his foot from my hand) and not letting go of it though-out the diaper change. It took a few times to get the hang of changing him and holding on to him at the same time, but he is show an improvement, He is no-longer trying to get away, and his rolling around is getting shorter in duration. I can't say that this will work for you, but my son is learning that he is going to get his diaper changed and that MOM is not giving up!

I hog tie my daughter's legs together but I forgot to grab my rope today so she got a little booboo on the heel of her foot while I was changing her. Please don't report me to Department of Children and Families, its just a joke. I'd like to hear the answers that you all are giving because this is an issue I'm having with my 1 month old baby. She is just a mess, doesn't like to be changed, bathed or dressed. It's like she wants to be dirty all the time!

Keep a small toy near changing table that only plays with during changing times. Keep engaging in conversation. Distraction is key!

will if you are trying to chang a dirty diaper and he want let you then let him stay in it for a while and trust me he will sooner or later want you to cahnge him. but you can also try to make it fun like sing a song as you change him (make something up ) so he thinks it is a game. it is hard i know I have three kids and sometimes you just have to put your foot down and tell them that stay still but in aloving way and reward him with praises when he does it without fiting with you or your hubby
