I totally have to disagree with you on this. I live in Italy, and I have never met people that are as warm, friendly and loving as Italians.
When my husband received orders over here, I was scared to death, but now I'm really going to miss it when we move back to the States. Any place in Italy we have went to visit, the people have been wonderful.
We found the Italians so friendly, that we moved off the Military base so we could be around them more, and expose our children to the Italian culture. Our neighbor's, and especially our landlords, worry and fuss over us so much because we're so far away for our families in the States. They have had us over for Christmas, they bring us food and wine, they stop by to check on us. I can honestly say we haven't had any problem with any Italian's since we got here.
I'm sure there are some arrogant Italians, but you'll find that in just about any culture. There will always be those people that think way too highly of their-selves.
Without a doubt, the Italians we have met here have become lifelong friends of ours. They are like family, and I really will be sad to leave them when we move. They have certainly made our family's adjusting to a new country and culture much easier to deal with.

Everyone in this forum is arrogant, bummer I'm ruining the canadian name...
As a french supporter, I think this is a vicious circle.
Touzours starts stupid questions like these, the Italians are offended, they defend themselves and insult the French who are then also offended, defend themselves and insult the Italians and on it goes...
No offence Touz, but you're making it worse for all Frenchmen and French fans and the French team. Like Jewish Zidane said yesterday, Zidane wouldn't be proud.
A few hours ago, this Q and A category was almost getting back to peace. I think we should create a peace treaty of some sort.
Who agrees?

They don't. Or maybe they do have something to be proud of, look at their history and culture.
They have a rich and colourful history; the Italian states grew rich and powerful despite beingvery small compared to the other huge, unified European countries such as france and Spain.
The country produced many great artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Titian, Dante, Eugenio Montale as well as statesmen, eg. the greatest general under Philip II of Spain, Alexander Farnese, Duke of Parma and Piacenza.
Plus, it's a beautiful country.
They're proud of their culture. That's all.
And you shouldn't be making sweeping statements like that. For example, many Americans are dangerously chauvinistic about the Orient and exoticize the East (and go on to do the same to marvellous people whom they know NOTHING of, such as Italians). But there are many who genuinely love and understand Asia and countries besides America-the-Beautiful.

i would hope that everyone does that (love themselves), the "arrogancy" comes in when show it to the world that they love themselves so much, which the italians are guilty of.
why they do that? a death wish!

C'mon Touzours, lets all be good ppl. Well, while it is fair to call a few of them arrogant(eg.antho c) there are also good ones like Juventina and RO35. They are both nice and there are many others too. Even some of us(french supporters)Are arrogant(im too scared to cite examples, they might all lash out agnst me). Anyway u have to admit that they handled their loss to France much bettr than we did when we lost to Italy.

Oh my God, you're still around and sounding like a broken record, even after France won on Wednesday!!! I guess July 9 is still hurting... or you really have personal issues with Italians. Whatever the reason, I hoped I would find this forum back to normalcy when I came back, but I see it was a utopian wish.
And speaking of arrogance, those who claim they are the *real world champions* even though they don't have the trophy don't sound very modest either...

Touzours, it's not good to generalize. Have you ever heard this: "The good, the bad and the ugly?" Every nationality has them!

Touzours, who DOESN'T love themselves? Look at yourself, for instance. You constantly talk about pride, and will do anything to protect the French reputation. Your avatars are always pictures portraying Zidane or the French flag - in other words, powerful symbols of French pride.
Please, don't start more disagreements, and all of this insulting must cease. We had peace for a while, why not maintain it?
