I know I've had a couple of loves, and I'm only 41.
Love evolves and sometimes those you love turn into friends or enemies with time, because they either grow away from you or you grow away from them. It does not mean that the love you feel for someone right now, is not real or that you don't believe it will last.
My percentage is a "guesstimate", which means it's a guess-estimate.
I would guess that 99.99% of people have love at least once in their lifetime.
I would guess that one half of marriages end up in divorce, or more.
I would guess that when divorced, an individual can find love again almost 100% of the time.
Don't lose heart. I truly believe that there is a mate out there for everyone. Whether that mate and person lives together for a lifetime is determined by their compatibility, and that compatibility may change with time. People evolve.
However, I found my soul mate. It's not hopeless out there. I was married, first, 17 years and he cheated on me. Then, I found my soul mate and I actually met him on Yahoo Personals.
Almost 3 years later, married, we've got the perfect marriage.
It's not hopeless. Don't lose heart. Keep trying and you will perservere.
Good luck!
