What kind of name are you looking for? Something common or something rare? Something with a pretty sound or a pretty meaning? A modern or classic name? An English name or something foreign?

Here are some sites that might help you come up with some names:

www.behindthename.com
www.babynames.com

(I should also mention that behindthename has statistics on some of the most popular names in the U.S., Canada, and Europe as of late.)

In the meantime, here are some of my favorites. Maybe you'll like one!

-Aino
-Alexandra (or Alexandria/Alexandrina)
-Alice (or the Spanish Alicia if you prefer)
-Anastasia
-Anna (or Anne, Ana, etc.)
-Antonia (or Antoinette or Antonina)
-Astrid
-Beatrix
-Catherine (or Catalina, Ekaterina, etc.)
-Christiana
-Christine
-Dagmar
-Elena
-Eleonora
-Elisabeth
-Elise
-Giovanna
-Giselle
-Hannah
-Helena
-Ingrid
-Josephine
-Lisa
-Lorelei
-Luise
-Luna
-Margaret
-Maria (or Marie, Mary, Manon, etc.)
-Michelle
-Mina
-Mireile (or Mireia)
-Natalia
-Nina
-Octavia
-Olga
-Ophelia
-Rocio
-Rosalie
-Rose
-Rosa
-Sarah
-Serenity (or Serena)
-Selene
-Tatiana
-Tess (or Tessa)
-Ursula
-Vera
-Victoria (or Viktoria, Victoire, etc)
-Vivian (or Viviana)
-Xenia
-Zenobia

Of course, a lot of these are old-fashioned and may not be what you're looking for. I'd suggest checking the sites!

Oh, and congratulations!

Honey - there are tons of books out there with names. I just read a list, which is probably the answer above me and showed it to my 8 year old. She said, "What kind of names are those? They are ridiculous!" She did like "Bianca". I heard my daughter's name from a classmate of my son's (years ago) and her "nickname" is that of an old famous singer. My other daughter's name I heard 30 years ago and it was the name of a song. Only advise I can give you is not to pick something too unusual.

Some names that I think are very pretty are Makinnsey Elizabeth, Victoria Leigh, Shanna Lorraine, Kelsey Anne, Zatha Corrine, Robyn Faith .................. Good luck on finding one. Make sure and break it down into nicknames and stuff too, since it will be with your child for the rest of their lives. Congratulations!!!

Scarlett, Analiese, Fair, Bowie, Brynn....

Stay away from J and K sounds. And look at hospital websites at the nursery photos. That will give you a good idea of what names are really popular in your area.

Read the part about baby names in the book "Freakonomics". It will make you rethink the name you want to give your child. Buy it or check it out at a library.
