No, but in some respect you do relate to any song you like wheather it's direct relation or empathic. : )

Hope this helps

Not necessarily, but the majority of the audience prefers to hear a song that he/she can relate to, usually dealing with emotions or relationships.

No.

"A little bit of Monica in my life
A little bit of Erica by my side
A little bit of Rita is all I need
A little bit of Tina is what I see
A little bit of Sandra in the sun
A little bit of Mary all night long
A little bit of Jessica here I am
A little bit of you makes me your man...."

Lou Bega's "Mambo No. 5." The lyrics aren't my type....

I'm a gal and don't have that mindset that goes with any part of the song. This is one of those songs I hate...but love every time it comes on! It's so catchy and upbeat. Can dance to it and stuff.

No, there are a lot of songs that I don't relate to, but I still enjoy them for various reasons.

Yes. Actually the answer is no, you can like a song just for the melody, tag line or beat. I just wanted to be the first one saying yes.

No, of course not.
I like the song Sweet Home Alabama, and I've never been to Alabama before, nor do I want to go.

No. It can just sound good. If it has a nice melody you can like it. If it has a good beat you can like it. You don't necessarily have to relate to it though.

No. I love Rush's "Hemispheres" & it's an 18 min. song about a guy who 1st gets sucked into a black hole & then made a god.

I can't relate to that. But I love it. :)
