I'd say the first step in stopping global warming would be to spell the world global correctly.

Money spent on oil drilling must be spent to find renewable energy sources, and the U.S has to use way less electricity. Believe it or not, the U.S. actually uses one third of the world's energy and more oil than all of Asia. This causes some serious air pollution which leads to global warming and acid rain. People from all around the world also need to practice smarter energy usage by using energy star fluorescent light bulbs, and the industrialization in China must be done in an enviromentally friendly way.
Assuming every thing just mentioned actually happened, we would be fine for another 150 years.

No matter what we do, it is very unlikely we will seriously change global warming. It is part our our planets natural cycle. There have been many periods of hot and cold in the history of the Earth.
If someday we are actually able to control the whether, then we could do it I guess, but nothing we do now is going to change that. That being said, it is still important that we stop spending so much money finding new oil, and start spending it on alternative energy sources. We deserve a clean environment.

well, for one thing the scientists have determined that it was hotter in the year 1600. before the Industrial Revolution. Global warming is not man-made. The Earth warms and cools in cycles.

Prevent any and every volcano eruption from happening because they spew out more greenhouse gasses than all the factories and vehicles that ever were on the earth.

Go vegetarian.
The biggest polluters are factory farms. There is no such thing as a true environmentalist that eats meat.
