We need to start holding parents and families more accountable for the children they send to schools. If a manufacturing company got a shipment of defective parts, they would not be expected to make their product with them. They would send them back. Unfortunately, schools can not send back less than perfect parts. Schools need to do the best with the "parts" they get. I am tired of the public blaming schools for not being able to raise all of society's children when their parents and families fail them.

Yes,Pay the Teachers a decent salary,and
have at least one Parent spend time at the
school to help with thier kids education,So
they will know what is happening with the
kids & the school. Talk to the teacher at
least once a week,so You will know the
progress of Your Child, and how they are
doing ( Don't wait for report cards ) by
then it may be too late - stay in touch.
Volunteers are always needed daily.

Right there we have just saved the Legal US Taxpayer $80B+ yearly which could be used for education, infrastructure, small business loans........
BTW----Make schools/teachers/admin accountable for grades/test scores.
Charter Schools?
Ship all trouble makers who don't want to learn to a separate floor or school so they won't infringe on kids who want to learn.
Kids in middle school on up need to be taught critical thinking skills.
Get rid of the Liberals in the PTA/school boards......

I don't have kids, but I am really concerned for children's education. I would gladly pay 2% more in sales tax if 100% of that 2% increase went directly to schools.
Better equipment, better pay does make more enthusiastic teachers, and better quality of life for everyone.
(This would make our state's sales tax 7% and I would still be glad to do it for the kids.)

Here, Here, Mr. G! :) As a primary teacher, I'm tired of being the teacher, the social worker, the nurse, the counselor, and their nutritionist! Families really need to step up to the plate.
