I have practiced magic for over 8 years. I have casted many many spells and they have worked for me. I cna honestly say that magic works.
If you are talking about stage performance that works too!! I like watching David Blane in TV. He is great with his illusions!

As with religion, belief in magic is a function of faith.
Just as some folks honestly believe that professional wrestling is real, people also believe that Lance Burton, Penn & Teller, Cris Angel and the others are all capable of feats which defy our senses and logic. Perhaps they are, but seeing as Penn & Teller make such fun of showing how these tricks are performed, I highly doubt it.
On the other hand, magic in the form of Voodoo, Santeria, Wicca and other religions have many more, and much more ardent, believers and followers. Can I point to these and say that they are not actual examples of magic (especially the Voodoo)? No I cannot. For the true believer, a Voodoo curse is one which *will* work, so long as the curse is performed by one whom the believer feels is powerful and knowledgable enough.
...and since, to the best of my knowledge, I've never had a curse put upon me, I really cannot say from practical experience (also, because I'm more of a skeptic than anything).

MAGIC has been used in some form or another all over the world for as long as man has had the need and desire to influence his environment. It has and DOES bring results. Over the last few decades there come to used the spelilng MAGICK (MACIK) to distinguish the mystical from the stage illusionist, superflous really because the spelling with a "C" is far older and more right for mystical work, its the ilusionists that should change their spelling.
But to answer you question, it has been my experience that Magic IS real, it simeply takes time to learn to use it to get results.

Stage magic isn't. Thats just an illusion. The magick that I practice is real. I am a 13 y/o Wiccan and witch and magick is part of my religion. I have felt it work and I know it works I have even seen it work.

Magic is in the eye of the beholder - the real journey of discovery is not in seeing new landscapes but rather having new eyes. Sure I beleive in magic. Just being out in mother nature one can see the supernatural that surrounds us.

Not the David Copperfield variety. Real magic does exist in the world, however.

Some magic is effective, some isn't. It depends on the knowledge and skill of the practitioner.

That depends. If you are talking in terms of magic that the magician does, watch Breaking the Magician's Code.

As an Occultist I can say with absolute certainty that magick is indeed real.
What is the real question?
