sorry about some of the sarcastic answers you received, not all people have a heart in yahoo answers, but yes I heard, don't feel bad that you did'nt. My 12 year old daughter was talking to her teacher today of it, all of a sudden she burst into tears, she had not heard, she is a teacher and 30 years old, so don't let these yayhoos from yahoo get the best of ya, glad you have a heart!

He said in one of the interviews with him that the only time he would step aside would be when his kids are able to continue his work....that when that happens, then his mission in life is truly completed. The little one only had his Dad for three years...I do hope that he is croc savvy as his Dad wanted him and his sister to be by this time....I'm pretty sure that before we know it, Bindi and her younger brother will take on what their Dad passionately pursued-wildlife conservation!!! They still have Steve's Dad and their Mom Terri- both very capable of instilling that passion in those two young ones....Steve will live on in his shows from the past, in his wife, Dad, Bindi and young Bob.....and in the memory of all his fans all over the world. No one will ever be that passionate and enthusiastic, though. What a unique and lovable person he was indeed!

Yes, that was and is very sad news. I'm sure the animal planet will run some of his old shows. Let your little sister watch some discovery or disney too to help keep her busy for awhile.'

What a way to go, he probably would have wanted it to be a croc or a cobra but still! He's the man!
Lesson learned kids! Even professionals should NOT be playing with wild animals

I'll bet no other topic has had as many posts in, say, a week than this one. For a couple days you couldn't log in here without seeing half a dozen posts about it.

I really miss him already. My sister and I love to watch him and we are both in our 30's. When I visit her house in Calfornia we watch it together and she can mimic his voice and its just hilarious. He brought awareness to wildlife conservation and brought back passion to the animals.
I'm sorry you hadn't heard, it's very sad.
My heart goes out to you.
Bless Steve Irwin's family and all of us that miss him.

I was saddened by it. While I wasn't a fan of his shows, he seemed like a decent person. He took a lot of chances though.
