Men wore skinny ties, short leg pants. The 80's fashion was to a certain extent a protest of the horrible 70's fashion. Long hair for men went out, short punk haircuts and eerings came in. I used to dress like that. Ladies wore those stupid stirrup tight pants, remember?
Looking back at it now, the 80's fashion was pretty dorky, not much better than the 70's.

It depends on what part of the 80's your talking about. In the early 80's it was punk, just think of Madonna Like a Virgin. Towards the end of the 80's it was more preppy. Best way to find out is look at pictures of old singers, like Madonna, Bon Jovi, Poison, Motely Crue, and so on. That will give you an idea.
