I live on the U.S. / Canadian border (Buffalo, N.Y.) and have a lot of interaction with Canadians. We generally get along pretty well but there are subtle differences in our culture that we tease each other about. Yes, I could usually pick out an accent. Yes they do depend on us for military support (as if we would let them get invaded). the border must be guarded pretty well (hopefully). We generally get more snow than most big cities in Canada. The Capitol is Ottawa. Many Canadian musicians play at our festivals and some are very good (Kim Michall comes to mind) Quebec is a Beautiful Province you should see it sometime. The Government is way too liberal for my taste. Good enough for now, eah

Hi
I am Canadian. We basically live the same lifestyle as the average middle class American. We have 10 provinces, 2 territories. We have a Prime Minister not a president. Ottowa (Ontario ) is our capital city. Our country boasts of our singers and actors that have gone to the American country to practice their trades. Our 2 official languages are French and English. We have snow throughout the country from November (usually) to Mid March or so. There is usually less in British Columbia (south west). Quebec is a beautiful province as are all the others too.
What we Canadians find is that some Americans do not know much about Canada. We get weird questions sometimes when encountering americans. In school we had to learn all of the states and where they are situated, and what was their basic trait ( tourism, agriculture, etc..) Well i hope this answers your question.

You're asking a lot and I don't know that I can answer everything, but I'll try. Personally, I have met some Canadians and have liked all of the ones I've met. In school we do learn the provinces and spend some time learning about Canada. I think Montreal is the capital, but I could be wrong. I love The Kids in the Hall. I'm really bad about paying attention to where anyone is from, so there may be several Canadian groups I like, but I can't be sure. I also like the Frantics and Red Green. As far as the border goes, I'm thinking that everyone could be more careful. I wouldn't place the blame on any one thing. I'm guessing in the winter Canada gets more snow than I do, but I know it can get hot there in the summer. I guess overall, I like Canada.

Too many questions packed into one. When I lived in Michigan many years ago I held no animosity toward Canadians. I loved the country driving there.
Now in Louisiana, I have little current opinion to offer. I imagine the Canadians are still good people on the whole.

They are cool, my brother married one and they are very nice and well mannered, her whole family is very nice and invite all of us to Canada every year, yeah they say aaaye alot but its no big deal. They love the queen of England and follow her moves which I don't understand and tell them they should join us in the revolt and they laugh, yeah Shania is great and pretty too, Bryan Adams is great too, not sure about your politicians or capital. Planning to visit one day and see the mountains up there.

My dearest friend in the world lives in Montreal, Quebec Canada, she is the finest person I know and through her I've learned a great deal about Canada, so much in fact I can hardly wait to see it for myself.

Yes, i have traveled in latin america extensively, and they like canadians better than americans.
I just dont like the "village" mentality of canadians that it is there duty to provide for those to lazy to do it themselves.
I work in detroit, and our populations swells during the day with canadians that come over the border everyday.
the best things about canada are the bare naked ladies, manitoba, and red deer. I have been to toronto and windsor ontario extensively, and in general it is positive, except for the little (indian born) canadian border guard that insisted on tearing my car apart (f that guy)

properly i know that that's a cop out yet i might want to assert that it completely relies upon on the guy. I have met many of the nicest individuals and Canadians, and on the different hand, some people I have met have left me questioning how someone might want to manage someone so poorly. base line, anyplace you bypass, you're going to discover those with fantastic and impolite tendencies.

I became friends with quite a few Canadian people while I was overseas - and no, I didn't know they were Canadian until I asked where they were from. They spoke english just like me, so I was just glad to met people I could talk to in my native language.
