No, because we are losing too many lives, and the MAJORITY of the people over there want us to leave. Pres. Bush has no escape strategy and when we get a new president they are going to pull out and leave the people stranded, because we shouldn't have been there in the first place.

For heaven's sake, no. This madness has been going on for too long altogether.
Reason Number One: Americans (in general) have this vision as the war in Iraq firstly as being some form of twisted justice for what hapened on September 11th, 2001 - which is completely unrelated - and secondly as this big humanitarian advance to "fix" Iraq and bring democracy to that country. The rest of the world, however, views the war as a very big scam for various forms of self-gain on the American government's part (the Oil War theory and so on). No reassurance to those of us who abide outside of the United States is forthcoming.
Reason Number Two: Let's put aside the whole scam idea for a moment and assume that the true aim of the war is to establish sustainable government in Iraq. Now, doesn't that alone just seem bizzare in some way? Wait a moment. Is it now the task of the President of the United States to go around fixing the government of every oppressed nation in the world?
Please don't get me wrong here. I am so glad to see the end of Saddam Hussein as Iraq's ruler. I do believe that action must be taken to ensure that Iraq gets on the road to recovery in all ways. But I want to know why it should be American action that is taken - why has Bush taken this task upon himself and his nation? What about the United Nations and other such organizations? Why should Iraq be following the U.S.A's rules now, as their culture is radically different from American culture? And - don't tell me it doesn't happen - how is bombing school houses going to help?
Honestly, isn't it time to give it a rest?

I think We as Canadians should not be there. Canada is suppose to be a peace keeping country. This has to do with Bush and what he wants. It really is too bad what happened in 9/11. I feel awful over that, but Canada should not have gotten involved in Iraq and the other countries. I feel that we should leave the middle east. There has been enough damage done already over there. Are we even making any kind of a positive difference or have we so far??

I am writing as someone who's mind has been changed.
At the start of this war I thought it was just about oil, and given the Bush/Cheney ties to oil and all the darned money they are sucking in like pigs at a trough, I had every reason to believe it and be angry about it. I though the war a selfish travesty.
Since Hizballah began attacking Israel however, I have begun to see a larger picture emerging. One that takes a deeper and more profound understanding to comprehend.
I still believe Bush got into it for selfish reasons that had nothing to do with WMDs or his good friend Osama Bin Ladin. But religious Muslims are committing atrocities everywhere and if America can help provide a modicum of real democracy to an Arab country, I believe America better stay and finish the job. God knows the people need it.
I just pray that however you personally feel about the war that you will support and pray for those involved in it.
May God give you peace, joy and time to reflect on all your blessings.

It is not war in Iraq. It is war on Iraq. Iraq did not attack NY. It is we who attacked Iraq. The war on Iraq is pure and simple terrorism which was long planned and some conscientious Americans did resign after finding out the fact in the House of White Lies. One of such great person is Karen. WMDs is the second big lie after 9/11. Both were planned and excuted byBush adminsitration under the influence of NeoCOns and Zionists and they took Islam and all Muslims hostage. The reason? They are only scared of Islam as it can alone foil their evil designs and because it is all 100% unadultrated truth!
We can't come out of Iraq and Afghanistan no matter how hard we try and we can't win the war either as Bush did not learn any lesson from the history!

Am I the only one who thinks we should keep on fighting. E-mail me if you want more detail. Typing is foreign to me right now...
Yes, I think we should keep fighting. I think this is a war that will never be won and will last until the days of the end of the world. We should keep on fighting because everyone deserves freedom and equal rights. America symbolizes that....
You should go to www.gty.org... It has a section about war and when it is okay and when it's not... My dad is so educated. I'm Christian and Republican if you haven't noticed. I believe in being open and honest.
Like I said, I'm tired, e-mail me pls!
Oh, you just joined. Well, welcome to the community. You'll have to enable e-mail if you want to e-mail me. Bye for now.

I hate the war. There really is no purpose. Its hurting very few bad people but killing innocent children everyday. Why can't there be peace on this Earth? Or is Bush just so bored he wants the drama?

Not. It is unwinnable. And how many more good Americans have to die over there before we say enough is enough?
