try to get close to him... as friends first. this may take a while. then try to move into a relationship from there. i liked this guy and then we became really good friends and now he likes me... but that all took a year... but it worked.

See what you two have in common and strike up a converation. Basically go for the friendship and build off of that. Those relationships last longer.

when you like a guy and he is not showing any interest,the best thing i think you should do is to try to understand him better by getting close as a friend,as time goes on,you can tell him how you feel about him.and i bet you this will work,have tried it and is still working for me. don't rush him,just be calm about it and he will definetly come back begging at your feet.

flirt and talk to him, get to know him, ask him about himself (guys like that), eye contact is important. Try to be where he is especially at school events (im not saying to stalk him). Subtly let him know your interested.
