a common mistake, I own a 92 TSi Talon. These engines are designed to run a re circulated stock BOV. These vent the charged air back into the lower turbo pipe not the atmosphere. So you dont get the wosh sound on stock unit unless you undo that pipe. Your ECU is pre programed with those air/fuel curves alloting for the excess air. If you vent it your car will run like crap, maybe not right away but will soon expecially since you want to wait. I suggest you get a GM 3" MAF sensor and a translator kit first. You will notice the power gains, spend only 100-200 bucks (ebay) and not do any damage to the car

It already *has* a blowoff valve on it.

If you want to vent the blowoff valve to the atmosphere, the trouble is that the ECU doesn't know where the air has gone. It thinks the air has gone into the engine, causing it to run too rich any time the BOV opens.

So, if you want to install a BOV and vent it to the atmosphere, the way to do this without making the car run badly is to replace the stock ECU with an aftermarket stand-alone speed density based ECU. Those won't have trouble with the "missing" air. Quite a lot of work - and money - for that sound, don't you think?

Please save your money the car is ten years old. The BOV will only make noise on rev up and closed throttle plate. Causing strain on a already old engine. Rev hiss rev hiss and a Crunch knock stop as the engine timing belt breaks or conecting rod fails. Does the turbo smoke on start up? The new 2006 V-6 eclipse are on sale. Car payment and credit improvement at the same time.
