Because the USA is the only world superpower and has the muscle. This action will eventually backfire on us. The world has been woken up to how dangerous it is to have one world superpower and they are beginning to stand up.

We, the USA, has literally become a rogue nation that is led by a man, Bush, that thinks he can ignore the rest of the world and do whatever he wants to.

Because the majority of American citizens were so filled with blood lust and a thirst for revenge after 9/11 they were willing to accept the lies being fed to them by politically inspired individuals. In those days anyone asking the questions being asked today would have been branded unpatriotic, and very few politicians were brave enough to voice an opposing opinion. However, now that our thirst for blood has abated somewhat, we now see how badly a decision we made. Now the tough part is finding a way out of this mess that will not end up in worse tragedy.

Does this answer your question.

Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

He lied some more. He has the country convinced he will save them from Terrorists. If this were true we would be in every corner of the world. We would have taken Mohmar and Idi Amin and that guy in Korea with the Nuclear weapons (yeah, real WMD). Saddam was a prize for daddy. If you want to protect us from terrorists - do it by protecting your home.

There are not enough people in this country to question authority, but the jury is still out on whether Bush will get away with this atrocity. He as far as many are concerned is a war criminal along with his cabinet, they should all be put aboard a plane and sent to the international court in the Hague to answer as to why he really did attack Iraq. More then 2600 of our people and 10's of thousands of Iraqi have died so that he could have personal gain, but I think more and more people are getting wise to him and this terrible use of American force. His popularity polls and the polls on the war bare this out.

Boy, where did you get your facts? The WORLD was in complete agreement that Iraq had WMDs. So were the left wing congressmen in the house and senate. The UN did not have the gonads to enforce the resolutions they had with Iraq and STILL do not.
(other resolutions) The vote in the UN went according to how the crooks (that were being paid off by Sadam) wanted it.

The Bush doctrine of using preemptive force against an enemy that has a 1% chance that it might attack the United States.
Some people bought the argument. As for the democratic senators? They had been thrown out of their offices due to an Anthrax attack. They were easy to scare.

The United Nations also did not stop the Genocide in Rwanda. Who can trust an organization that fails to stop the very thing it was formed to prevent? Screw the UN.
