My bathroom is spotlessly clean and sanitized.. but it has this smell that I just cannot get rid of. I just cant figure out the origin of this smell... it has to be from one of the pipes.. bathtub, toilet bowl or washbasin.. any ideas on how to get rid of this? BTW I have tried the air fresheners.. I cannot tolerate the strong ones and the mild ones just get mixed into the existing smell and make it worse..!! Help.

Can you identify the smell? Is it sewage or something else. It's important to know because that will give you an indication as to what the problem is. If you smell sewage...the toilet may not be connected right...if it's mold...you might have a leak somewhere behind the walls or under the sick. When the air is not moving in the bathroom try and see where the scent is the strongest and go from there.

Hope this helps.

Baking soda and white vinegar. Mix it, let it bubble (a little goes a long way) and polish your pipes with it. The white vinegar will kill mold and neutralize odor (and make your bathroom smell like a salad for a few days) and the baking soda helps ensure that it won't come back so quickly.

What you are smelling is the breakdown of the metals in your pipes... it's not really dangerous, just leaves an "old" smell in your bathroom. If the volcano concoction doesn't work, I would consider a Lysol bath for your pipes twice a week. That should help, but your bathroom will smell like old people.

Best of luck.

The things that hang on the toilet, they are sanitizers that go into the toilet bowl. You can get them at the Dollar Store, cheap. They will last for a month and they work .The water sound like your problem,is it a rotten egg smell? If that is what it is,you need a water softener.

You might have a water leak somewhere that's starting to get moldy, check under the sink, or behind the access panel for the shower plumbing. Also, check that your drain pipes have an "S" trap or that they aren't broken or corroded below the S trap, smell can be from the sewer .

Take your bleach and pour it down all your drains in your bathroom. After 1 hr turn on your faucets and let them run HOT WATER for about 10 minutes {watch them as you don`t want a flood} this should help the smell in your bathroom. Also you can buy deodrizers that go into your t paper dispenser roll.....LOL

Funny you should ask...I have just been reading up on dehumidifiers, and that should help your situation. Target is selling one online for about $35 that is the perfect size for a bathroom.

Also, sometimes junk builds up in your sink or tub drain. Pour a cup of bleach down the drain and let it sit for a while. That should take care of any beasties lurking in the drain.

bathing room smells are by way of micro organism... you have have been given to do away with the micro organism rather than basically putting some fancy scent over it... sparkling your bathing room with a water and bleach answer (50-50). it is going to kill the micro organism. you could ought to do it better than as quickly as for the scent to be long gone as quickly as and for all. in my opinion, no longer something smells worse than bathing room smells with a fancy fragrance...

Turn your bathroom into a spare bedroom and pee in the garden. The appalling smell will (hopefully) eventually disappear and you will increase the value of your lovely home. Two birds with one stone. Your tomato plants may also benefit. Result!

if you think the smell is coming from one of the drains, just clean all the drains to get the gunk out. Then your bathroom should be stink free.
