Mine has always got warm after a while and so has my childs. Is this normal?

yes it is alright they all get warm it is normal there is nothing wrong with it i hope this was some help

Unfortunatley you didn't tell me what type of monitor you use.

It is perfectly normal for most monitors. CRTs get noticibly warm when they are on for a while.

LCD (flat panel) monitors don't generate nearly as much heat. The only way to notice any warmth from one is to physically touch it with your hand. Even then, some stay at room temperature.

Oh yeah its perfectly normal. Specially for lcd screens. It will get hot but it wont hurt it

Yeah that's fine. It's just dissipating heat from all of the electronics inside.

As taskr36 said, for CRT's it's normal.

LCD's one might get "hot" but not as much as the CRT's, but they will.

Check out the link, it says that new CRT screen are 'hot-cathode device'.

Its normal.
Unless it gets scorching hot. Which I've never ever heard of.
