Can I get rid of a little Rubber Heel?

I bought these cute flats for 30 dollars but the very short rubber heel on the bottom ruins them!!! i thought that possibly i could saw it down with like a nail filer or melt the rubber heel.

would this workkkkk??

I would take them to a shoe repair shop. They would know what to do right away and it probably wouldn't cost very much.
