Custom duties is a tax charged by a government on imports from another country. Duties usually apply to all commercial goods entering a country unless regulations are present that exempt it from being applied. Customs is encountered most often when receiving parcels from a foreign country or from the importation of goods when you return from a trip at the airport/border crossing.
