Please help me with this. I was watching this special on PBS about all the poor people who will not be able to vote once ID cards are required to vote. Did I miss something? There are places where you can just walk up, say you are someone, and vote?! You have got to be kidding me. You need an ID to buy a pack of smokes but you do not need one to partake in one of the most important aspects of being an American? Plus, if these people do not have ID cards how are they working? Requiring ID to vote is common sense! See, it is sht like this that made me leave the democrat party. What is wrong with them?

wrong. what the dems want is a method to ensure that the new computer voting systems are recording the votesa as they cast and for who they were cast. right now, the count cannot be checked because no paper trail or record is made. the computer cannot be checked, and the programs are copyrighted so no one can even check them without the copyright owner's permission, which is never given. hence, the computer may indicate one vote went to A PARTICULAR CANDIDATE, WHEN IT MAY HAVE BEEN CAST FOR ANOTHER. (sorry about the caps)

Ha! too right. i'll be honest, i am a liberal and i don't understand the problem with a national id. we already have ssn's(hey, a democrat came up with that one!) why not expand it a little.
So, yeah, you're right. Ironic.
