in Wisconsin city laws may vary but in green bay and Appleton it is illegal to drive with them on. The reason being that it could cause a distraction to other drivers thus causing a crash or accident. I've worked for a car stereo shop for 9 years and I've put them on many cars and I've seen the tickets people received.

You can buy them, put them on the car. You can show them off at car shows and in parking lots. You just can't drive with them on in most places. If they are red or blue you could be arrested and your vehicle impounded for "Impersonating a police officer."

Yup, it's true. I do know of someone who received a disorderly conduct ticket for driving with them on his bike. Not only that, I believe his passenger got a ticket as well.
Milwaukee+cops=look out!

I haven't heard that law, but I wouldn't think so. You might check with the DMV in WI and find out. No offense, but those things are so 10 years ago.

here in alabama you can only have them on while in a car show or other car events. parking lot like you is ok here. its ashame to cause it looks really cool on them & to me its a safty thing to cause people can see you better. the law markers are stupid!!!

I am not sure about the laws there, but in missouri and cali the laws are that you cant have red in the front, cant have any of the bulbs themselves visable and nothing red and flashing...

i know in CA you cannot drive with neons (as they supposedly distract others) you can although have them on in parking lots..ect..
