USC showed that it really hasn't lost much from last year (although we can't tell for sure).
Oregon is the 2nd best team with an offence that looks almost un-stoppable.
Cal lost to a good Tennessee team on the Vols home turf.
Arizona St. has another good offence that is tough to stop.

If a team is good...people that aren't fans of that team say their overrated...it's a given.
I heard somebody say not too long ago that Payton Manning was overrated....yeah he doesn't have rings but you can't argue with his skills, he's not overrated at all...he's just that good...well the same concept applies to those teams..people are just jealous.

I feel that other conferences are over rated none of the Pac 10 schools scheduled a 1AA team like alot of the Big 12 teams did this year and Texas played North Texas, Oklahoma played UAB both 1AA teams and Oklahoma struggled to beat UAB a 1AA team and USC 12 time National Champs played in Arkansas while Oklahoma played at home. USC plays Notre Dame every year and Notre Dame alomost always a really good team. we will see how good Oklahoma is when they have to travel to Oregon and play on the Ducks home turf, which is a tough place to play just ask any Pac 10 team.

Generally, because most teams in the Pac-10 do not play defense. Sure they can score 50 pts a game, but they also give up 50 pts a game. They don't tend to do very well out of conference either. Look at last weekend...Wash State and Cal got clobbered in out-of-conference games. I think LSU will probably keep the trend going this weekend against 'Zona.

People think the Pac-10 is overrated because they get tons of hype, yet rarely win anything. With the exception of USC, Pac 10 teams are notorious for looking fantastic, yet underperforming.

the pac-10 is known for playing with great offenses but the sterotype is that all the teams in the conference can't play defense. and that included usc. last year, oregon, usc, cal, ucla, arizona state, arizona, and even oregon state had good offenses but nearly all of them had trouble playing defense and showed that against tight games. that's why everyone thinks the conference is overrated.
