if you were to see a gang of teenage ''hoodies'' terrorising innocent person, would you intervene?

How do you know the person is innocent? I'd try to break it up and find out why. But you have to know if you get involved you might get killt. I ain't no hero but I was terrorised a few times when I was younger so I'm a little biased. I hate punks that go around terrorising inocent people for fun. If I had a kid who was doin that I'd probably beat his *** all the way to the county jail. That's if talking didn't work. Punks can kill another persons soul doing sh*t like that.

Why only men? I am a woman and have in fact intervened often when someone appeared to be terrorizing another human being. I have stopped rapists, and punched punks.
I have taken on as many as four opponents at one time.
I am probably getting too old to take on a whole gang, but there are other ways to intervene, like calling a cop.

Why only men???? I am a woman but I would not like to see this happening and yes I would intervene even if only to call the police etc. Too many people turn a blind eye these days. I know as I was mugged two years ago and the two people across the road stood and watched as I was kicked to the ground and my bag stolen. We need to stand up and be counted for.. not let terror rule our streets

In today's climate, it is really difficult to (legally) know what to do.

A few years back a reporter (from the Daily Mail, I think) was in NY when he spotted a guy beating the hell out of a woman over the bonnet of a car. He pulled the guy off of her and was then somewhat taken aback when both the girl and the guy started pounding him!

He was advised by a local member of the police 'authority' that 'it as best to keep your nose out of other people affairs,' or something like that (don't quote me for accuracy).

I am sorry to say I would not ,as I value my life too much, and would not want to bereave my family. Many of these scum carry knives.. I would, however, phone the police (at a safe distance) and try to get a good description of them......I know that I sound a coward but I am a woman of a certain age, and I don't think I could do a lot....if I was male and younger, I might think differently!

like most of the women answering, yes I have intervened many times. why only men? it infuriates me to see 'hoodies' or 'chav's' having a go at someone and people just ignoring it, they are just as bad as the people doing the hassling.

I'm not a man, but I'd like to remind anyone out there that while they may be too afraid to try to intervene there is always hiding somewhere and calling the police.

As a female - if I saw it happening I would go over and try to lend support. I do a mean job in hair pulling, scratching, kneeing in the nether regions and screaming - always assuming I do not have the children with me and after I have called the police on my mobile.

I did that once and almost got my face kicked in, actually they had me on the ground and were kicking my head, God sent someone to pull them off. I will never do that again if it is a dude getting whompped. A woman, I'm sure I would jump in and hope for the best again

I would love to but your either that kind of person or not and im afraid i come into the latter category,would probably phone the police but its one of those things that you dont know till it happens.I may if i had a few beers though!!!!
