United Kingdom & Great Britian are the same. It is a country made up of four constituent countries: Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and ENGLAND.

England, Scotland and Wales have formed Great Britain since 1707. Great Britain and Northern Ireland have formed the UK since 1921 (from 1801-1921 it was the whole of Ireland). People still refer to the 'British government' or 'British Olympic team' when really both cover the whole UK.

at one point in time, Britain had conquered enough of the world tha it was said, the sun never set on Great Britain. Such is no longer the case
