i ran track alot and my calves are bigger than most girls, and i'm wearing a dress that goes down to my knee.

i'm thin everywhere else and i just don't want people looking and just say "she got some big calves"

i look GREAT IN THIS DRESS, i don't want my calves to ruin it.

WIDE HEEL OR THIN HEEL

Depends on your legs.

A chunky heel and a stiletto can both make your legs look heavy. The chunky heel can add bulk, but the stiletto can make your legs look wider in comparison.

Your safest bet is to look for a heel that has a simple and natural line to them. They should be thinner, but not spikes. They won't draw attention downwards, and keep it on your upper body where it belongs. They should not have any straps that go across the top of your foot, or around the ankle. Any horizontal lines add bulk. A general rule is that less shoe the better the foot and leg. Having lots of decoration just makes your feet and calves stand out.

Since I have no clue what the dress looks like, I'm posting examples in basic black.

NOT high heels; they draw attention to the calves, particularly. There is also the inevitable comparison between the thin spikey heel, and the not-so-thin leg.

I'd go with a 1 1/2 inch heel, no more.

I'm an avid cyclist, and have a similar problem!

No chunky heels! I repeat, no to chunky heels if your looking to minimize your calves. I helped my aunt with this. Where a slim heel. No chunky heels means stay away from wedges and platform styles as much as possible. Thinner heels tend to draw the eye downward to a precise point creating a curvaceous, elegant affect instead of a thick, plank like image. Hope I helped. Happy dressing!

How high of a heel are you willing to go? Try the following:

any skinny stiletto
a platform with a stacked heel
a t-strap heel (really makes ankles look small!)

*you can bring the dress with you when you go shoe shopping - so try on every pair you want to!*

Good luck!

I'm thinking that an 3inch or higher heel would do the trick of slimming your calves. When you wear high heels your muscles are taunt and look leaner.

Wear interesting shoes that draw attention away from your calves, defenitely opened toed and thick heeled.

I have the same problem. I think high heels (3 or more inches) will do the trick.

if you wear high heels they will look slimer, try a bunch of heels with 3 inches or more, and try them with a ankle strap, people will look at your shoes more if you got a strap or a shin ding on your shoe.
