This may sound like a stupid question to some, but all I've ever known about bed sizes were twin, full, queen, & king. Can someone tell me what a 'super single' is? Thank you!

'Super Single' can refer to several sizes of bed.
The waterbed sold as 'Super Single' is generally 44" X 84".
In the UK, 'Super Single' is 41" X 75".
In the U.S., a 'Long Twin,' sometimes called a 'Super Single,' is 39" X 80", and is usually put side by side with another one, for couples, as the two then add up to the same size as a King. It's easier to make up the bottom beds in two parts than it is to make up a huge King mattress, so you can buy the top sheets and comforters in King size, and the fitted sheets in Long Twin (sometimes listed as Super Single on packages).
There are many other non-standard sizes of beds, and waterbeds usually vary slightly from the standard sizes, although they carry the same size names. See the Wiki article for a list.

Whatever the hell size bed is comfortable for you. When I was single I had a twin-sized bed. Granted, I am female and petite, but my point is that it was sufficient for me. A full-sized bed likely works for you, right? Tell your friends to shove it.
