If you just want to change it with no fancy artwork
about $1200.00 My neighbor reupholsters antique cars for a living.
You ought to see some of the stuff he turns out!!

Much more than it would have cost to order it as an option.

The seats have to be re&re'd (removed and re-installed) then stripped (remove the old covers)
After that any repairs or reshaping can be done to the seat itself. You might want more Back or Butt support

Next are the 2 most expensive parts of the process
"Ripping" the old seat covers ( very carefully removing the stitching from the original seat cover to make patterns for the new ones) and then sewing up the new seat covers with the new leather material which takes more time to sew and fit than cloth or vynl.

The hide is also way more expensive than other materials and prices can vary widely. Ofcourse after the hide is fabricated into a seat cover it has to be installed onto the seat and then the seats installed back into the car It is 2 days work for 2 experienced auto trim techs and they have to be fully experinced to do a good as factory job so figure 40 man hours at whatever Autotrim shop rates are in your area most likely 40 - 60 an hour plus the cost of the hide 500 + USD I am sure.
So i would say 2000 -2500 min. Way more if you want the headliner and door panels done also.

As far as the paint job goes if you can find a U prep it we paint it shop in your area it save u some $ if do not want to touch it I would try MAACO they are cheap and there Quality is ok but that depends on the shop (so ask around about the one in your area) price 600-1000 and more if you want a color change and more again if you car is red because it such a hard color to cover proporley.
Remember prices for cars and parts and labour varies from shop to shop and in different areas of the country so always check out at 3 shops in your town. And a trim shop that earns their main lncome doing glass may be willing to take the job and sub it out (Send to another shop) so try and find the guy that owns the shop and does the sewing you can tell by how strong and rough his/her hands are!

I hope that helps you understand the scope of the job and if you decide to go ahead with it find a good shop

If it was offered in that model go to junkyards and look for the same model and see if they have leather seats and buy them for a cheap price.
This is what I did in my old Ford when my seats were old, just changed them in a junk yard for almost nothing.

leather is a pain in the **** to take care of, and if you dont take care of it, it will look like sh!t after a year.

macco or earl sheib 500 for "7 year" paint. the more money in paint, the better quality and longer lasting it will be.

one other option if the Neon had available factory leather:
Call the auto junkyards and see if they can locate you seats from
a wrecked neon. It'll probably be cheaper than re-doing your interior.
