When I had a horse, gaited, we used bell boots to protect the heels from being struck by the hind feet. Bell boots are also used in shipping for the same reason, especially if your horse is a scrambler. I think that it depends on how your horse travels. If you have a trainer, go with their advise.

Well if your horse has a problem with walking straight, yeah you should get bell boats. Bell boots protect the front feet from getting soars when the hind feet hit them! They also use bell boots when trailering a horse, if you have a horse that doesnt stand still while traveling that would protect them from hurting themselves

Bell boots are made of a thick rubber that surrounds the horses front hoofs protecting the horse from clipping his front heels with his back and becoming injured. I used them on a couple of my horses that had the tendency to do that. Depends on your horses gait it would not hurt if you decided to use them. Keep in mind it does take the horse minor adjustment.

bell boots are used on horses that like to clip themselves from over reaching, it helps protect there pasterns. Also used to help a horse that likes to pull there shoes off from this problem. Alot of jumpers use them but are not neccesary if your horse isn't doing this

bell boots are usually for horses who clip themselves when they trot and canter. I mean, you can use them when jumping, but they really serve no purpose. They are either rubber, or feltish boots that clip & hook around the hooves.

I personally would not use them on a jumper. They can interfear with jumps, also the horse tends to knock down more jumps in my experiance. However check with your trainer... Also can't be worn at shows.
