When one door closes, another one opens. I was fired once, it was a godsend, It allowed me to have the job, I have now, for twice the pay!

Here's a really positive thought:
You now have more time to put together a really good resume and find a really good job than you did while you were employed at that job that you really didn't like.
Just think of it as their loss. You didn't like it there anyway, so you're better off.
My wife got fired from a similar job where they told her they would be doing one thing and then had her do something completly different. Then she got a much better job that she loved after that.
I quit a job a few years ago that was horrible with no other job as a backup. If I didn't do that, I would never have applied for the next job I got about 3 months later. That was the best career move I ever made.
So it just goes to show that you never know what will happen in the future. The worst things you worry about never really happen, and a few years from now, you'll probably looik back at this as a good thing.

It was probably not the right job for you. LIke you said, you didn't like the job and you were given a different job function. That was pretty bad of the company to pull the bait and switch tactic. I think just take a week or two off and regain your composure. It takes time...to get over it...try to go out with friends and family..and do things that make you happy.
In regards to the bills, you might have to call the places and ask for a grace period. Most will understand. Also, if you worked at the job for a decent amount of time..I think it is a few months..but don't call me on that..you can file for unemployment and get some cash that way.
Be sure to take care of your kids so they don't get sick..I guess you can think of it as having more time for your children..but keep your head up and start applying on the online job boards also network with family and friends. Good luck.

That's OK. That job just wasn't for you. We've all been fired. The worries will always be there, no matter whether you are employed or not. It sounds like you are intelligent, quite reasonable and in good health. If you have kids, you also still have the rest of your life ahead of you. Relax, have a cup of coffee and take a few hours off. Get on Yahoo answers and help someone else with their problem, that will cheer you up! Then start applying again.

I once got fired also. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. I found a new job that I liked much much more and stayed there for 26 years. Look at this as an opportunity.
Have a stiff drink, just one, no more, then get busy on your job search to find another job. Don't worry about your kids getting sick. They will be just fine. As for the bills, let your hubby worry about those.

"bush-deathgrip: your job will go to an illegal for half the salary...and the company will profit "
sigh* wow here we go again. Damn hispanics taking our jobs... But did you know, outsorcing is more of a threat then to lose your job to a WET BACK?
Sorry. I hope you feel better. I also lost my job recently, was upset, but decided to go back out there and start looking! It took me over 5 months to get a job that payed a little more, but i got it. Now a days you need a lot of credentials to get any job and thats what is making it harder for unemployed people. I hope you can find something quick. Why dont you try going to the unemployment office (if you need the financial support) and they can help you out until you can get another job. Try contacting city hall they usually have job placement programs, like job corps. I hope I helped, and i hope you will be ok. Good luck.

Hang in there. You will find work in no time at all. I have been fired a couple of times, so I know what it's like. Make sure you file for unemployment insurance right away. I got screwed out of mine because I waited a week to file for it. I had no idea there was a timeframe. Also, sign up with every temp agency in your area. They will find you something right away. I usually went about 2-3weeks without work, but once I got a few offers they just poured in. So please dont worry, where one window closes another door opens.

don't worry about it now, nothing to be done about the last job.
first i'd check to see if i could draw some type of unemployment. that will help.
second, there are alot of temp agencies that will send u to jobs that are matches for your skills. alot of people get hired permanent through a temp agency. the new place gets to see your work ethics for some time before deciding to hire you or not.
good luck to you!

Hi, Have faith in god,as they say "if god closes one door he opens 10"This may b a blessing in disguise. If you were hired for one postion and were given another and they lay u off because you did not perform, Then all i can say is that they do not deserve to have you.YOu definetly deserve better., I would not want to work with such HIPPOCRITES
