everything went at same time check engine light comes on when oil pressure drops (going uphill) normal again downhill engine light stays on test at auto zone said speed and other sensor troubles but tranny slips now and ping in engine

Sounds to me that the computer itself is screwing up. And thus doing them wierd things.

The problem is that it is a Dodge. Another problem is that it is a Dakota. You probably have a couple of loose or bad sensors. As for the tranny slipping, I'd have it looked at. The Check eng. light will come on for tranny problems, the only thing it won't come on for is brake problems. Brakes are on there own sensor and check system. Or you could just sell it and buy a real truck. A Ford. good luck.

Either low of oil or you need a new oil pump, or oil press sensor, and if it has 4 wheel abs, you probably damaged one of the speed sensors installing the wheel bearing Multiple Problems, not related

Doubt it's a sensor could be the sending unit though I would take it in so a Mechanic can diag the problem ...

did you CHECK your oil level?
Low oil level will cause the engine to overheat which in turn
can make your transmission over heat...
