Are we talking about Amazing Spider-Man #1 from 1963, or one of the bazillion other Spider-Man series? The year published should be in the indicia (small print) on a page somewhere inside.

If you have Spidey #1 from 1963, you probably have something of value depending on the condition. Us comic geeks are very anal retentive about grading. The smallest little ding or crease can severely devalue a comic. You can have it professionally graded at http://www.cgccomics.com/.

Once you have the grade (it will be a number, such as 7.5), you need to determine the approximate market value. You should search completed auctions on eBay, and check out the latest Comic Book Price Guide by Robert M. Overstreet (generally considered the bible for comic values).

And if you have some "other" Spider-Man #1, it has lots of value as a drink coaster.

Good luck!

$8... you have GOT to be kidding me...

I'll give you NINE for it!

Seriously though... which Spidey #1? There have been so many different Spider-man titles through the decades, some are worth MUCH more than others.

If it is the true #1, get it graded by a professional. They will help you set a price and sell it, if that is what you end up deciding to do.

Some of the Spider-Man series include ...

The Amazing Spider-Man (if this one, then it's worth a bundle)
Peter Parker the Specactular Spider-Man
Web of Spider-Man
Ultimate Spider-Man
Spider-Man 2099
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

Plus there are literally dozens of Spider-Man mini-series.

Take a look at the publishing information. It should have the series name. It should be the small print on the first page.

If it's in mint then I'd say about $3000, it's so worth it.
