and which is the best brand?

Drink lots of whisky, my favorite is Macallan, but I say that about every malt whisky I drink. The feeling can only be discribed as napalm for the mind. You need to be "hard" enough to drink it!

There is no 'best brand' in general, as the single malts are unique by where they are from and how they are created. Have fun sampling them. In Edinburgh it's grand to start at Holyrood, work your way up the Royal Mile pubs until you get to the Castle. If you're not very drunk when you get there, you could go down to the Grassmarket and work your way back to Holyrood via every open door at the Cowgate. I've never managed to complete this gargantuan task, nor have I managed to sample every whisky in Scotland - but I've found a few pubs and drams that'll do me. Have a different different drink in each pub, and never have more than one in any place - even then you'll have to cancel christmas.

There's always the option to drink and crawl your way through Rose Street in the New Town as well, but I usually work my way through beers rather than whiskies there. It gets very difficult though, if you take in every side street between Princes Street and George Street, but if you have your mind set on 'Leaving Las Vegas'..

PS: Punch anyone that mentions 'Scotch' and 'Glenlivet' in one sentence, anyone that can't tell cider from bourbon, and anyone asking if London is the capital of Scotland ;o)

a shot of each variety sipped for flavor is a good start. Ask for the difference between bourbon whiskey and cider.
Also ask for a drop o' tha Craithur.
Glenlivet is Scotch. But Blanton's Kentucky Whiskey or Bushmills Irish whiskey is premium. Ask what their well-whiskey is and if any offered is from a local distillery.
Remember, only one shot of liquor per forty pounds of body weight.

One jigger of wiskey per hour. Any more and you will be too altered, and more vulnerable for attack.

Remember, their wiskey is three times stronger and served three times larger than ours.

Have fun!

It doesn't matter which brand you're drinking...just go pub to pub and drink until you're content. Switch brands...try them all!!!!
