Tell me if this guy is gay:
- He is close to many girls (friends, bestfriends) BUT he hangs out with guys.
- He's too quiet in school and too shy.
Also, what are other signs if a guy is gay or not? Like how does a guy sound like a girl? or stuff like that...

You say he is close to girls this doesn't sound gay. He hangs out with guy's, what man doesn't hang out with male friends, doing manly things etc..
Quiet doesn't constitute you to being gay also being shy. Many people are. Some are more out going then others, while many are more the silent type, this doesn't make you gay.

can't tell, there is no one size fits all description of gayness.
Let's look at your items listed:
close to girl and guy friends, cool, making friends is a good skill to have.
too quiet in school and too shy, how can someone be too much of either, you either are quiet/shy or not, some people are intraverted and others extraverted, not an indication of much of anything
not all gay guys sound like gilrs, not quite sure what you are meaning by that anyways
So, can't tell if the guy your talking about is anything other than human.

Best way is to ask him in a quiet private setting. If he punches out your lights then he is too far into the closet to respond. What kind of an immature ridiculous question is this? Though if you are a flaming homophobe he just might punch out your lights on principle.

who are you? The gay police. If a guy or gal is gay that say so.
Just ask and don't be homofobic. Looking for any strain from the norm. We are all shy at different levels of our developement.
Some guy called my girl friend a lesbian. she cried and cried and was really hurt by it. She is not gay but very shy.

ask a guy that knows him if he's gay. guys have gaydar. they can usually tell if a guy is gay before he knows it (true story...) ten points if you ask his boyfriend. just because he's quite and shy doesnt make him gay. believe me. generally flamboyant hand gestures, an obsession w/ american idol or similar talent show, the wearing of scarves, and staying after to watch the boys shower are a good indicator.

no way to answer that based on this information, u can't tell by looking at someone (usually).
if he says he wants to have sex with another guy, that's the most positive sign that he is gay lol.

You really can't tell by those signs. You can ask him, or some gays claim to have gaydar, although this has been shown not to be accurate all time!
