If it still works when it's dried then I'd say you're fine. You might have to get a new phone though. My cousin pushed me in a pool one summer and I was fully dressed and had my cell phone in my pocket. It was completely ruined. The display was messed up when I turned it on and it just made chirping scratchy noises. He took me to the Cingular store and replaced it.

Disassemble it as much as feasible...no brain surgery...just take off as many covers and plates as you can.
Shake it moderately hard from different angles for about 2-3 minutes.
Now...the trick is to dehumidify it quickly. If you don't have a dehumidifier, put it next to an A/C RETURN vent where the returning air will blow over it.
In about 24 hours (48 hours for an LCD display) you should have a working phone again.
(I own a electronics cleaning business...we clean ALL electronics, including cell phones, computers, TVs, etc, by submersing them in an ultrasonic tank filled with water. Trust me...electronics can take a lot more water than most people would believe.)

most if not all phone comapines dont have water damage included in there insurance plans. Somewhere in the back of the phone on the battary itself or underneath it theres a circle that if not wet will still be white but if its reddish pink then your screwed mean that the water damage is already bad enough that it wont work probably. Taking to your phone company is just gonna be a disappointment they'll just have you buy a whole new one

You need to take it apart ASAP so that the parts can individually air dry. Otherwise the phone will rust. Usually if that happens its a good idea to put it in a plastic bag full of water so that at least you can "suspend" the damage until you are able to deal with it.

Try to open it up and let all the parts air dry for a week or so. If its still warm where you live, put it out in the sun.

That's nothing. One of my dad's cell phones is at the bottom of a resevoir. I say you're better off getting a new phone rather then trying to save your current phone.
