Drive US 101 along the coast of Oregon. Lots of beaches and other attractions for kids and adults, and it's not too expensive.

You do not say where you live or how far you want to drive or fly?

But if you want a real fun place that is family friendly. Go to Utah.
In state there are a number of beautiful National Parks, and in all areas many family things to enjoy.
Salt Lake City has many things to do totally free. All of which children well enjoy.
Some ski resorts that any time of year are fun to visit.
It is a clean and save for the most part.

Orlando, if Disney is too expensive for you, there are other local attractions.
