The CTS (coolant temperature sensor) tells the computer how warm the engine is, and the computer turns on the radiator cooling fan when a certain temperature is reached. The air conditioning system also turns on the fan when the A/C is turned on.

Try using jumper wires directly from the battery to the fan motor to see if it will run at all. If not, you will need to replace the fan assembly. If it does run, you have a defective circuit to the fan (possibly just a pulled-out plug). A very unlikely possibility is a bad CTS.

The S-10 probably has 2 fans, one on the waterpump shaft, and the electric one. The electric one is ONLY for the A/C. Turn on the A/C and then that electric fan will/should turn on. Hope that helped.

Electric fans usually come on at a certain temp. first you need to find your fan relay and check it, if bad replace if good maybe fan motor is burnt up. Also you can rewire your fans to always run when the engine is running or you can run it through a switch so you can turn them on manually.

On most vehicles with electric fans there are sensors, one may be bad. Turn on your a/c if you have it, the fan should come onand run until you shut the a/c off. If your fan wont come on at all check connections and fuses.
