most likely
think of it this way, wouldn't you get lonely without someone to communicate with.
that depends really on the way the fish lived before it was homed by you.
if it lived in a huge arena with other fish before you got it, then yes it will become lonely after some time
but if you had it from when it was a baby, not too long ago born
then no it wont be lonely
i mean i doesn't know any other way of living, so how can it miss something it never experience

It depends on the type of fish and the sex of the fish; for instance, male bettas don't mind being alone and females will do fine in groups, but females don't do as well alone and males will kill each other. Some fish are far to aggressive to be with other fish and community fish like to school. Another example is tetras - they like to be in even numbered groups... So basically this answer depends on the fish...If it's a community fish get a community if its aggressive - stick to one or several that are all the same size.

Lonely wouldn't be the most precise term. Some fish live in schools or shoals and will become stressed if kept alone. Stress can lead to things that will likely kill it. Other fish are strictly solitary critters or can live together, but don't require it.

Whether your fish requires others of its kind depends on what type of fish it is. I would suggest determining this if you haven't already and then visiting some aquarium sites with profiles on that particular fish. You should be able to find out relatively quickly whether it needs company or not.

Jen basically said it all. Depends on the fish. Some fish like to be kept in schools of 6 or more fish, while others (usually more aggressive fish) just like to be left alone. Its best to do research on the fish's temperment and compatibility with other fish.

Female Betta fish are not aggresive. Only the male Betta fish are aggresive. The males will actually kill the females except during mating season. I found that out the hard way. You should be able to get other fish to go with your female.

Depends on the fish. Tetras are "schooling" fish who like to be with other Tetras or are very unhappy. Betas on the other hand will fight if they are a tank with other Betas but get along OK with fish like Tetras.

I'd think yes. But I'm not a fish so I don't know how they behave. But I did see one fish attack another, I don't know why. And I'm not sure what happened to the dead fish's body. I'm thinking the other fish ate him. Very weird.

Depends on the breed. Some fish are better in a school than others. Others would prefer the solitude of their own environment.

i think they might get depressed, at least the fish who are used to living in schools. think about it- you're hanging out with your friends one day, then for the next year you're all alone. fish are used to having the social rank and everything that goes with being in a school. to put a schooling fish by itself must not exactly help fish mentality.

It depends on type of of fish. A Beta, for example, cannot be kept with another Beta, yet will tolerate another breed of fish.
