Oh yes...happened to me when I was in college. We'd only been dating for 6 months and we drifted apart for whatever reason. I don't why remember because it was so long ago. Ironically, she was the only person who ever broke up with me. I guess I just got busy with school, work and all that stuff you do in your early 20's.

There was a period of about 1 year where I would have gladly taken her back and I might have even overlooked some hints from her that she wanted to do just that. But by that time time, I was about 6 months into a new relationship and I decided to "stay the course" with my new girlfriend. That was 1989 and we've been married since 1994.

you might lose the person when you are not there for him when he needs you the most and you knew that he needed you the most.

You dont have to be there for him all the time. But when all the doors are closed for him, you could be the one to show the way. When you are not around, perhaps he will find his own way.

Love is not being around when you want him the most. It is about when he needs you the most.

Yes. People are social animals. You can drift apart or have a sudden rift because they "fell" expecting you to catch them or pick them up, but once they hit bottom you were no where to be found.

Yes, especially if they go into the army and get their head twisted around and reject you instead of bringing you closer.

yes and it's a bad feeling when they leave you. Cause you really do not know what you have until it is gone. It's the worst feelings trust me.

If you aren't there for them, then odds are someone else will be or they might seek out someone to give them the support/attention that they need.
