I believe they want you to stay away from the dulcolax because it can cause cramping and it could lead to contractions. I had to take mega doses of calcium to get anything "moving." I know how difficult it can be. Milk of Magnesia is better for pregnancy, but check with the doctor before taking anything and see what he says.

Don't do that! The constipation is a normal part of the pregnancy. I know it sucks, but you should try eating more fruit or drink more fruit juices. Try prune juice. Talk to your doctor as well, but stay away from anything like that.

no the best thing to do for constipation is something like fibercon. or just eat lots of fiber. it happens to us all and it gets annoying i know but you have to be very careful with stuff you take. ever if you believe it is ok. always always consult your doctor or midwife and good luck and congrats

Talk to your doctor about that. They actually make prenatal vitamins with a built in laxative that is safe for the baby, and very gentle. My doctor accidentally gave it to me at first...lol.

OTC laxitives are not usually recommended. You can drink more water and add more fiber to your diet. My OB told me that Fiber Sure made by Metamucil is safe. It is a tasteless powder that you add to drinks or food.

Talk to your doctor first. Laxatives can cause contractions sometimes. Get whatever you want to take OK'd by your caregiver.
